Terms of Service

Last updated: May 27, 2026

1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CertForge (certgovernance.app), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

2 Service Description

CertForge provides certificate governance, policy enforcement, approval workflows, audit trails, and related services.

3 Free Tier Limitations

The free tier is subject to the following resource limits, which may be updated with 30 days' notice:

  • Up to 100 active certificates
  • Up to 25 domains
  • Up to 2 user accounts per organization
  • No guaranteed uptime SLA (see Section 6)
  • AI-assisted governance features require a Pro or Enterprise plan
  • Internal/private CA support requires a Pro or Enterprise plan

Accounts that exceed free tier limits may have service restricted until upgraded or usage is reduced.

4 User Accounts and Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and all activities conducted under it.

5 Acceptable Use

You agree not to use CertForge for any unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purposes, including issuing certificates for phishing, malware, or illegal activities.

6 Service Level Agreement

Free tier: Provided on a best-efforts basis with no uptime guarantee. Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance may occur without advance notice.

Pro plans: CertForge targets 99.9% monthly uptime for the hosted platform. This target excludes scheduled maintenance (communicated at least 24 hours in advance), force majeure events, and outages caused by third-party infrastructure (cloud providers, DNS, CAs).

Enterprise plans: Uptime commitments, response time targets, and any credits for SLA breaches are defined in your Enterprise Agreement or Order Form, which supersedes this section.

Status and incident history are available at certgovernance.app/status.

7 Data Processing

CertForge processes certificate metadata, domain names, and account information necessary to provide the Service. We do not store private keys — certificate private keys remain on your infrastructure at all times.

For organizations subject to GDPR, CCPA, or equivalent data protection regulations, a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available upon request for paid plans. To request a DPA, contact legal@certforge.xyz.

Data handling practices are described in detail in our Privacy Policy.

8 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CertForge, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service
  • Any certificates issued through your account
  • Any violation of these Terms of Service
  • Any infringement of third-party rights by you

9 Limitation of Liability

CertForge is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. In no event shall CertForge be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.

10 Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion for violation of these terms.

11 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States.
